Smith Track & Field Places 13/33 at New England III Indoor Championships

Northampton, MA: Alina Ainyette (South Orange, NJ), Claire Edwards (Klamath Falls, OR), Etta Grover-Silva (Arcata, CA) and Jasmine Liverpool (Brooklyn, NY) competed today for the Pioneers in the New England Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships and scored 14 points that gave Smith a 13th place finish out of the 33 schools entered.

Edwards finished 7th in the 55m dash (7.65), 12th in the 200m dash (27.34),  and 8th in the long jump (4.90m); Ainyette took 19th in the 400m dash (1:03.40); Grover-Silva 4th in the pole vault (3.20 m) and Liverpool 5th in the long jump (5.00m) and 11th in the triple jump (10.02m).  The four combined for the 4x200m relay and took 7th place in 1:49.90.

Grover-Silva will continue on to the Open New England Championships next weekend at Boston University where she has qualified in the pole vault.
