Smith Tennis Falls 8-1 to Bates

Northampton, MA: First year Diana Fiumefreddo (Winchester, VA) and sophomore Miyu Kikuchi (Tokyo, Japan) won their match at number one doubles and although Smith had other close matches, the Pioneers fell to Bates College 8-1 this afternoon. With the loss, Smith fell to 3-6 on the spring season while Bates improved to 3-6.

The second doubles team of Catherine Hill-Lydecker (Conway, NH) and Alanna Dick (Winthrop, ME) dropped a close match 6-8 while Lydecker at number 3 singles also fell in a close contest 4-6, 6-7(4-7).
