Smith Swimming and Diving Takes Ten Events in Victory Over Elms College

Northampton, MA: First-year Lily Seidman (Westfield, IN), senior Marly Pineda (Bosque Farms, NM) , and junior Francesca Kotey (Gainesville, FL) each took two first place finishes in individual events to propel the Pioneers to a 149-98 victory over Elms College tonight at Smith.

Siedman won the 100 yard butterfly (1:01.78) and 200 yard backstroke (2:19.83).  Siedman was also the third leg of the 200 yard medley relay in which Smith placed first (2:04.40).  Pineda took first  in the 200 yard freestyle (2:02.64) and 200 yard breaststroke (2:42.99).  Kotey finished first in the 50 yard freestyle (26.40) and the 50 yard butterfly (30.29).  Also earning first place finishes for Smith were Shanti Freitas '08 (Evanston, IL) in 1 meter diving with a score of 207.90, Rachel Dorset '10 (Stratford, CT) in the 100 yard freestyle (59.23), and Reyna Levine '11 (Kalamazoo, MI) in the 500 yard freestyle (5:56.98)    

The Pioneers will be away at Westfield State Saturday, Novermber 17th at 1 pm.
