Mount Holyoke Takes Seven Sisters Squash Championship
Northampton, MA: Mount Holyoke College earned its second consecutive Seven Sisters Squash Championship as they beat Smith in their first match, 9-0, and defeated Vassar, 7-2, in the championship round.
Named to the all-tournament team were those individuals who finished out the day 2-0 at their respective positions: #1 Pam Anckermann (Mt. Holyoke), #2 Menusha Hettiarachchi (Mt. Holyoke), #3 Vidushi Gurunada (Mt. Holyoke), #4 Laura Robinson (Mt. Holyoke), #5 Laurian Lue Yen (Mt. Holyoke), #6 Lizzie Wright (Mt. Holyoke), #7 Pia Seth (Mt. Holyoke), #8 Anna Robinson (Vassar), #9 Lorrette Fisher (Vassar).
Kate Whitesell '08 (Easton, MD) of Smith played a fantastic match in the third-place match against Sarah Odell of Wellesley earning the victory at the #1 position in five games.
Smith will be back in action Saturday, February 16th as they host Wesleyan and Columbia at 11 am and 3 pm.
