Ski Teams Places 6th at UConn Carnival

Northampton, MA: The Pioneers raced to sixth place in both the slalom and giant slalom events at the UConn Carnival held at Cranmore Mountain, North Conway, New Hampshire.

In the slalom event, sophomore Kara Munsey (Burnt Hills, NY) finished 14th followed by Lindsey MacNabb (Vernon, British Columbia) 22nd, Katharine von Herrmann (Piedmont, CA) 37th, Mikaela Larson (Providence, UT) 51st, Ellie Baker (Norridgewock, ME) 53rd, Rebecca Houran (Laconia, NH) 65th and Maya Wei-Haas (Tulsa, OK) 69th.

von Herrmann finished first for Smith and 20th overall in the giant slalom with Munsey right behind her in 21st place. MacNabb raced to 27th place followed by Larson in 29th place. Baker, Wei-Haas and Houran finished 58th, 63rd and 64th respectively.

The Pioneers will race again next Saturday and Sunday at the Plymouth State Carnival held at Waterville Valley, NH.
