Smith Equestrians Finish Fourth at UMass Show

Northampton, MA: The Smith equestrians had sixteen top four finishes today and took fourth place with 27 points out of eleven schools at the UMass Show. Becker College was the High Point College with 36 points while the host University of Massachusetts finished as Reserve High Point College with 34 points.

Liz Jacobson (New Fairfield, CT) and Christy Stine (East Dover, VT) each brought home a blue ribbon in intermediate flat, Marguerite Davenport (Mill Valley, CA) and Morgan Brescia (Seekonk, MA) won blues in novice flat while Anya Bahros (Norwell, MA) was the fifth rider to bring home a first place ribbon in walk, trot, canter.

Second place red ribbons were won by Kelly Hulyk (Milford, MA) in walk, trot and Susanna Haas (South Acworth, NH) in walk, trot, canter.  Xiaoshunag Chen (Ningbo, China), Abigail Cooper (Chalfont, PA), Barrett Phillips (Goochland, VA) and Charlotte Ballantine (Alstead, NH) took third place ribbons while Sarah Kuhn (Boston, MA), Martha Maloney-Huss (Wilmington, DE), Kristyn Hall (Newtown, OH), and Phillips placed fourth.

The Smith equestrians will compete again on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Mount Holyoke Show.
