Smith Cross-Country Finishes 14th at NCAA Division III Regionals

Northampton, MA: The Pioneers concluded their 2007 season with a fourteenth place finish out of fourty-seven teams at the NCAA Division III Regionals held at Harkness Park in Waterford, Connecticut.

Sophomore Anna Cressotti (Southampton, MA) was the first Smith runner to complete the 6k course placing 37th overall in 22:44.6 followed by junior Nora Youngs (Penacook, NH) who took 40th in 22:46.  Also scoring for Smith were Alison Cloutier (East Hampton, CT), 68th in 23:18.3, Christine Dzialo (Belchertown, MA) 116th in 24:05.2 and Stephanie Strenta (Hanover, NH), 149th in 24:54.2.

The individual champion was Jennifer Adams from Keene State College who crossed the finish line in 21:20.1.  The top fifteen out of the 47 team field were
(1) Amherst College with 40 points followed by Williams (96), Bowdoin (127), Colby (140), Middlebury (169), Tufts (179), MIT (282), Wesleyan (295), Bates (296), Keene State (301), Connecticut College (341), Wheaton (362), Mount Holyoke (398), Smith (410) and Wellesley (451).
