Smith Cross Country Finishes 3rd at Seven Sisters Championship

Northampton, MA: The Pioneers finished 3rd at the annual Seven Sisters Cross Country Championship. Smith runners, Anna Cressotti '10 (Southampton, MA) and Nora Youngs '09 (Penacook, NH), , took 1st and 2nd place respectively, out of 94 participants, with times of 18:47 and 18:54.

Mt. Holyoke finished first, out of the 6 competing teams, with 52 points, Wellesley finished a close second with 59 points. In a very tight finish, Smith came in third place with 62 points.

In addition to the outstanding showings by Cressotti and Youngs, Smith recieved excellent times from Alison Cloutier '08 (Easthampton, CT) (19:42, 13th place), Christina Dzialo '10 (Belchertown, MA) (20:09, 18th place), and Stephanie Strenta '11 (Hanover, NH) (20:28, 30th place)

Smith returns to action when they will host the NEWMAC Championship Saturday October 27th.
