Cross Country Places 31st at Open New Englands

Northampton, MA: Sophomore Anna Cressotti (Southampton, MA) finished 19th (18:52)overall and first for the Pioneers at the Open New England Cross Country Championship held at Franklin Park in Boston. The Pioneers placed 31st with 748 points out of 44 teams.

Andrea Walkonen of Boston University won the 5k race in 17:36 while Quinnipiac took the team title with 72 points.

Other scorers for Smith were Nora Youngs, (Penacook, NH) 123rd in 20:18; Christine Dzialo (Belchertown, MA) 191st in 20:59 ; Alison Cloutier (East Hampton, CT) 193rd in 21:00 and Stephanie Strenta (Hanover, NH) 222nd in 21:29.

The Pioneers will race again at the Seven Sisters Championship held at Wellesley College on October 13th at 11:40 am.
