Basketball Falls to Trinity

Northampton, MA: The Pioneers fell to Trinity College 60-35 last night in Hartford, Connecticut and dropped to 1-3 overall while the Bantams improved to 2-1.

Trinity got out to an early lead in the game and built upon it during the first half to take a 34-19 lead at the break.  In the second half, the Pioneers were plagued with turnovers and were only able to get off 13 shots the Bantam's 36.

Sophomore Claire Arnsetin (Hicksville, NY) led Trinity with 14 points, five rebounds, five assists, six steals and a block in the victory. Sophomore Berit Schelde (Holstebro, Denmark) was the high scorer for Smith with seven points and pulled down five rebounds.  Junior Courtney Parker (Ocean City, MD) had a team high six rebounds in the loss for Smith.

The Pioneers are in action again on Saturday, December 1 when they travel to New London, Connecticut to take on Connecticut College at 1 p.m.
