Smith Basketball Loses to Moravian College in Emmanuel Tip-Off Tournament

Northampton, MA: Smith basketball was defeated my Moravian College this afternoon 56-41 in the consolation round at the Emmanuel College Tip-Off Tournament. With the loss Smith falls to 0-2 on the season, while Morvarian moves to 1-1 overall.

Meredith Murelli '09 (Litchfield, CT), Lisa Marie Vuono '10 (Lyndhurst, NJ), and Laura Miller '11 (Minneapolis, MN) of the Pioneers combined for 28 rebounds on the game with 10, 10, and 8 respectively.  Miller aslo led Smith in points with 9. 

Moravian's Emily Smith '11 (East Stroudsburg, PA) led all scorers with 15 points and contributed 6 rebounds on the game, while teammate Kirsty Stearns '10 (East Norwich, NY) added 12 points and 7 boards.

Smith will be back in action Tuesday, Novermber 20th at 6 pm as they host Elms College in their home opener.
