Track and Field Participate in the Williams Relays

Williamstown, MA: In today’s non-conference meet, the Pioneers competed in the Williams Relays. Since no overall champion, nor team points were awarded, each Smith athlete competed for individual points.

Senior Katie Walters-Krohn (Minneapolis, MN) had a strong showing, finishing first in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 43.26 meters, fourth in the Discus Throw (37.97 meters), and third in the Shot Put (11.76 meters). Senior distance runner Liz Kelly (Storrs, CT) finished fifth in the 5,000 Meter Run with a time of 18:36.43, while first year Nora Youngs (Penacook, NH) finished sixth in the 1,500 Meter Run with a time of 4:55.46. The Pioneers also saw two eighth place finishes from senior Patti Rebull (Union City, NJ) in the 100 Meter Hurdles (17.99) and junior McKane Sharff (Arlington, MA) in the 100 Meter Dash (13:56).

The Pioneers are back in action next Saturday, April 15th, when the compete in the UMASS-Dartmouth Invitational.
