May 15, 2006 Track & Field Invididuals Compete at Open New Englands
Cambridge, MA: Seniors Liz Kelly (Storrs, CT) and Katie Walters-Krohn (Minneapolis, MN), junior McKane Sharff (Arlington, MA), and first year NoraYoungs (Penacook, NH)
competed against athletes from other Division I, II, and III
institutions this past weekend at the 2006 Open New England
Championships. Youngs had the best finish among Smith's representatives with a 5th place (10:58) in the 3,000m steeplechase. Walters-Krohn placed 12th in the shot put with a throw of 40'6 and Kelly finished 13th in the 5,000m (17:51.39). Sharff competed in both the 100m and 200m finishing 15th and 13th respectively with times of 12.85 and 26.17.
Kelly, Walters-Krohn and Sharff along with AlisonCloutier (East Hampton, CT) will all compete this week at the ECAC Championships while Youngs will rest as she awaits an invitation to the NCAA Division III Championships in the steeplechase event. |
