Springfield,
MA: Four Smith athletes competed today in the ECAC Division III
Outdoor Track & Field Championships held in the rain at Springfield
College. Senior Katie Walters-Krohn (Minneapolis, MN) competed in three events placing 15th in the hammer with a throw of
143'9, 6th in the shot put (40'9.5") and 5th in the discus (122'2) and
earned All ECAC honors in the shot and discus. Senior Liz Kelly (Storrs. CT) finished 8th in the 5,000m in a time of 17:25.58 earning All ECAC honors while teammate Alison Cloutier (EastHampton, CT) placed 18th (19:44.41). Junior McKaneSharff (Arlington, MA) placed 14th in the 100m trials and 15th in the 200m with a time of 26.63.
First year Nora Youngs (Penacook, NH), who did not compete today, awaits an invitation to race in the 3,000m steelechase at the NCAA Division III Championships that will be held May 25-27 at Benedictine University. |
