Holyoke, MA: The Smith Equestrian team competed in today’s Zone Finals at Mount Holyoke College. This competition featured the top riders from each of the four regions in Zone 1 (nine zones nationally) who qualified to ride by finishing as either champion or reserve champion at the Regional competition last weekend. From last weekend’s results, the Pioneers had two riders that qualified to compete. Junior Emily Hertz (Brattleboro, VT) finished 3rd in New England in the Open Over Fences event, which is the most advanced division in the IHSA. Christy McKenzie (Trumansburg, NY) placed 6th in New England in the Alumni Over Fences event. |
