Smith Crew Has Strong Showing at Lake Quinsigamond

Worcester, MA: With a strong tail wind during today’s regatta held at Lake Quinsigamond, the Pioneers were able to take three of the four events in today’s match-up with WPI, Colby College, and Wesleyan College.

The Pioneers won the Women’s Varsity Eight Race in a time of 6:41.2, with Colby finishing close behind at 6:41.94. Smith also took home the Women’s Second Varsity Eight Race with a time of 6:56.71. The novice squads competed well, as the Pioneers won the Women’s Novice Eight Race at 7:22.02, and the second novice boat finished third at 8:01.1.

The Pioneers will be back on the water tomorrow, as they host both Amherst and Iona. Start time is scheduled for 10am.
