MA: The Pioneers took fourth place this afternoon scoring 77
points behind host Springfield (173 points), Williams (160), and
Middlebury (143) with Westfield fifth with 20 points.
Senior Shalya Livingston (Sharon, VT) led the Pioneers with a third place finish in the 400IH qualifying for the New England III, ECAC and Open New England Championships with a time of 66.43. She also finished second in the pole vault with a height of 7'6" and third in the 100HH (15.45) and was a member of both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams that qualified for New England III's and Open New Englands. Sophomore Nora Youngs (Penacook, NH) took second out of 16 in the steeplechase qualifying for the NE III"s (12:02.24). Sophomore Claire Edwards (Klamath Falls, OR) took third in the long jump and qualfied for NE III's with a jump of 15'11 3/4" and finished 6th in the triple jump (32'3 3/4"). Senior McKane Sharff (Arlington, MA) won the 100m dash in 12.60 while first year Etta Grover -Silva (Arcata, CA) won the pole vault with a vault of 10'. Caitlin Ritchie (Meriden, CT) finished 3rd in the javelin (108'9"); Julia Res (Old Tappan, NJ) 8th in the shot put (27'10 1/4") and Sienna Boyd (Ipswich, MA) fifth in the high jump (4'9 3/4"). Other member of the 4x100m relay team include Sharff, Ritchie, and Grover-Silva while Alina Ainyette (South Orange, NJ), Jasmine Liverpool (Brooklyn, NY) and Edwards round out the 4x400m team. |
