Lacrosse Falls to Wellesley in NEWMAC Championship Semi-finals

Northampton, MA: The Pioneers fell 22-6 to second seed Wellesley College this afternoon in the semifinals of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Lacrosse Championship.

The "Blue" rattled off the first seven goals of the game in the first ten minutes of play and added ten more to take a 17-1 lead into halftime.  Susan Parke-Sutherland (Columbia, MO)  scored the lone goal at the 18:14 mark for Smith.

The Pioneers added five goals in the second half, three by Sara Smyth (Brooklyn, NY) and one each by Blair Rapalyea (Prides Crossing, MA) and MichelleWalsh (Northampton, MA).  Goalkeeper Sara Smith(Brooklyn, NY) made seven saves in the loss for the Pioneers who end the season 5-10.
