Pioneers Race Against Tufts, Simmons & Wellesley

Northampton, MA: The Smith crew raced today against Tufts, Simmons and Wellesley. In head -to-head competition against Simmons, the varsity eight won in 6:41.52 while the novice eight took first by over 20 seconds. Against Wellesley, the novice eight won in 7:04.06, seven seconds ahead of the "Blue", the second novice eight was first by 22 seconds while the second varsity eight took second, 7 seconds behind. The Pioneers (6:59.09) took second to Tufts (6:47.19) in the varsity eight and in the second varsity eight.

Smith will be in action again on Sunday, May 6 when they row in theNew England Championships held in Worcester.
