Track & Field Compete in Williams College Relays

Willamstown, MA: In their third meet of the outdoor season, the Pioneers had many excellent individual finishes as they competed in the non-scoring Williams College Relays yesterday with both Williams and Westfield State.

Senior McKane Sharff (Arlington, MA) finished second in both the 100m (12.81) and 200m (26.89) sprints, while teammate Caitlin Ritchie (Meriden, CT) finished third in the 100m (13.91). Senior Shayla Livingston (Sharon, VT) won the 400m Hurdles (64.83) and finished second in the 100m Hurdles (15.52). Another outstanding sprint performance came from first year Jasmine Liverpool (Brooklyn, NY) as she finished second in the 400m sprints (64.25).

Smith also had some great outings in the field events, highlighted by first year Etta Grover-Silva’s (Arcata, CA) first place finish in the Pole Vault (11’6.25’’), followed by Livingston in second place (7’11.5’’).  First year Sienna Boyd (Ipswich, MA) finished second in the High Jump (4’9’’) while sophomore Claire Edwards (Klamath Falls, OR) finished third in the Long Jump (16’2.5’’).  Ritchie finished up the fields event by finishing third in the Javelin (103’9’’).

Sophomore Nora Youngs (Penacook, NH) won the Steeplechase (11:43) and Smith finished first (51.54) in the 4x100 Relay with Sharff, Ritchie, Grover-Silva, and Livingston.

The Pioneers are back in action again next weekend as they travel to Hanover, NH for the Dartmouth Invitational.
