Northampton, MA: Seniors McKane Sharff (Arlington,MA) and Shayla Livingston (Sharon, VT) with sophomore Caitlin Ritchie (Meriden, CT) qualified for post-season competition today at the non-team-scoring Trinity Invitational.
Sixteen teams competed today in Hartford with Sharff taking second in both the 100 & 200m. She qualified for the ECAC's in the 100m with a 12.76 performance and for the New England III's with a time of 26.74 in the 200m. Livingston ran a 15.01 in the 100H to take second and qualify for the Open New England Championships while Ritchie placed third in the javelin with a throw of 114' 4" to send her to the New England III's. Other top performances were given by first year Jasmine Liverpool (Brooklyn, NY) who finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 31'9 and 9th in the long jump (14' 3/4'); Claire Edwards (Klamath Falls, OR) took second in the long jump (15' 81/2") and fourth in the triple jump (31' 3") and Alina Ainyette (South Orange, NJ) took seventh is the 400m (1:04.46). Livingston, Ritchie, Ainyette and Liverpool teamed up in the 4x400m relay and finished 6th in 4:20.82. |
