February 3, 2007 For Immediate Release Contact: Carole Grills (413) 585-2703 Smith Places 7th At Tartan Invitational Northampton, MA: The Pioneers finished in 7th place today at Smith's Tartan Indoor Track & Field Invitational. First year Etta Grover-Silva (Arcata, CA) won the pole vault event with a jump of 10'1" and teammate McKane Sharff (Arlington, MA) won the 55m dash in a time of 7.35. Senior Shayla Livingston (Sharon, VT) and first year Jasmine Liverpool (Brooklyn, NY) finished 4th and 7th respectively in the 600m run; junior Alison Cloutier (East Hampton, CT) took 5th in the 3000m, and Kirin McElwain (Philadelphia, PA) and Christine Linton (Lexington, MA) finished 9th and 10th respectively in the 1 mile run. Smith's 4x200m relay team comprised of Grover-Silva, Sharff, Caitlin Ritchie (Meriden, CT) and Alina Ainyette (South Orange, NJ) took second with a time of 1:52.76 and the 4x400m relay team, Hailey Bird (Salt Lake City, UT), Liverpool, Caitlin Colman-McGaw (Manchester, CT) and Livingston finished 5th.
