              Tracksters Compete at ECAC Championships

 Northampton, MA:  Seniors McKane Sharff (Arlington, MA) and Shayla Livingston (Sharon, VT), sophomores Nora Youngs (Penacook, NH), Caitlin Ritchie (Meriden, CT) and Claire Edwards (Klamath Falls, OR) and first year Etta Grover-Silva (Arcata, CA) all earned All Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) honors with their performances at the ECAC Division III Track & Field Championships held in Oneonta, New York.

            The top eight in each event receive All ECAC recognition and in Thursday’s competition, Youngs finished fourth out of seven in the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 11:41.79; Grover-Silva placed eighth of out fifteen in the pole vault with a vault of 10’4; Ritchie was fourth out of thirteen in the javelin with a throw of 118’; Sharff placed fourteenth in her 100m heat (13.50) and Livingston advanced to the finals of the 100HH after finishing fourth in her heat in a time of 15.20.

            On Friday, Livingston finished fourth overall in the 100HH (15.41) and third in the 200m (25.74) while the 4x100m relay team comprised of Sharff, Livingston, Ritchie and Edwards ran their second fastest time of the season (50.22) and finished fifth.
