Ginsberg Named Field Hockey Coach at Smith College
Northampton, MA: Director of
Athletics, Lynn Oberbillig, announced today that Jaime L. Ginsberg has been appointed
field hockey coach at Smith
College. A 1999 graduate
of Slippery Rock
University, Ginsberg received her
Master of Education degree in Sports and Recreation Administration from Temple University
this spring.
Ginsberg has
served as the field hockey coach at Friends
Select School
in Philadelphia
for the past three years. Prior to her position at Friends, Ginsberg coached field
hockey, winter track and junior varsity lacrosse for three years at her alma mater
George School where she was an outstanding athlete graduating with twelve varsity
letters. She founded and served as player/coach for the women’s lacrosse club
team while at Slippery Rock and was a founding member of the Cosmo Club Field
Hockey team in Philadelphia.
Ginsberg served as a site director and head coach for the United States Field
Hockey Association in Colorado Springs from 2001-2004 and been a head coach at
the Nike Field Hockey camps under Katharine DeLorenzo since 2004.
“We are
excited to have Jaime join our coaching staff as only the fourth field hockey
coach in Smith’s history,” said Oberbillig. “Her enthusiasm for teaching and
coaching field hockey as well as her recruiting contacts in the Philadelphia prep schools
will allow Jaime to hit the ground running building on the Smith field hockey
tradition.”
