Champion
South Hadley, MA: The Pioneers tied with UMASS for Reserve Champion today at the Mount Holyoke College Show. The host team was the High Point Champion with 49 points, followed by Smith and UMASS with 23, and Becker College with 21. There were 10 total teams. Smith had a total of 18 riders, many of whom were point winners. Michaela LeBlanc (Cotuit, MA) was a blue ribbon winner as she qualified for regionals in open flat. Jessica Willis (Richfield, CT) finished first in alumni over fences, as she too qualified for regionals. Judy del Cuadro-Zimmerman (Brooklyn, NY) was also a first place finisher in beginning walk-trot-canter. Both Kathryn Mishkin (Chatham, NY) and Kristyn Hall (Newtown, OH) were second place winners in intermediate flat and novice flat, respectively. Third place ribbons went to Elizabeth Jacobson (New Fairfield, CT), Martha MaloneyHuss (Wilmington, DE), Kwun Suen Miu (Happy Valley, HK), and Grace Livingston (Lyndhurst, OH), while fourth place finishers included MaloneyHuss, Anna Logowitz (Newtonville, MA), Rosemary Bethea (Trenton, NJ), Sarah Maxner (Norwich, VT), and Christine Stine (East Dover, VT). The Pioneers will ride again next Saturday, March 10th at the Amherst Show. |
