 Smith Equestrians Finish Fifth at Amherst Show

Northampton, MA:  The Smith equestrians competed in their last show of the spring season today at Amherst and tied with the host school for fifth place with 20 points. Mount Holyoke won the show with 40 followed by UMass (37), Becker (28), and Williams (22). Christine Stine (East Dover, VT) who has already qualified for Regionals in novice fences, qualified today in novice flat.

             Winning blue ribbons for the Pioneers were Liz Jacobson (New Fairfield, CT), Martha MaloneyHuss (Wilmington, DE), Bridget Arsenault (Halifax, Nova Scotia) and alumnae Jessica Willis.

             Taking second place red ribbons were Charlotte Ballantine (Alstead, NH) and Grace Livingston (Lyndhurst. OH). Yellow ribbons were won by Arsenault, Stine, Willis and Sarah Maxner (Norwich, VT) while Stine, Kathryn Mishkin (Old Chatham, NY) and Marguerite Davenport (Mill Valley, CA) collected fourth place white ribbons.
