         Tennis Defeats NEWMAC Rival Clark 8-1

Northampton, MA:  The Pioneers of Smith picked up a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) victory yesterday in Worcester as they defeated Clark University 8-1. With the win, Smith improved to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in conference competition while Clark remained winless with 9 losses.

Singles
1. Miyu Kikuchi (SC) lost to Celina Grisi, 6-2, 6-3
2.  Seiko Fujii (SC) defeatedEmily Slack, 6-0, 6-1
3.  Kate Johnson (SC) defeated Kristen Domurad, 6-0, 6-0
4.  Catherine Lydecker (SC) defeated Alycia weiner, 6-0, 6-1
5.  Alanna Dick (SC) defeated Phoebe Livingston, 6-2, 6-2
6.  Francesca Albrezzi (SC) defeated Rebecca Good, 6-1, 6-1

Doubles
1.  Johnson/Lydecker (SC) defeated Grisi/Slack, 8-5
2.  Fujii/Kikuchi (SC) defeated Domurad/Weinter, 8-0
3.  Ali Scher/Mydzung Chu (SC) defeated Livingston, Nicole Wachtel, 8-1

The Pioneers will be in action again this weekend when they travel to Wheaton College for another conference match at 1 p.m.
