Boston, MA: In the first match of the season the Smith Pioneers defeated Division I opponent Northeastern by a score of 8-1. The match took place at the SquashBusters facility in Boston. Graduates of the SquashBusters after-school program, first-years Shanita Williams (Boston, MA) and Jaye Cooke (Dorchester, MA) both won their matches 3-0 at number two and four respectively. Smith recorded six 3-0 victories in the match, including the top four spots. The Pioneers are back in action again on Saturday, November 11th as they host a scrimmage with Wesleyan at 11am. |
