Amherst, MA: Smith finished fourth at today’s show held at the University of Massachusetts. Host UMASS placed first with a total of 41 points. They were followed by Becker with 34, Mount Holyoke with 31, and Smith with 21. There were a total of ten participating teams. Alumnae Jessica Willis was the only first place finisher for the Pioneers. Rosemary Bethea (Trenton, NJ),Sarah Massone (Skillman, NJ), and Christine Stine (East Dover, VT) each were awarded with second place ribbons. Smith also had six riders place third as Emily Hertz (Brattleboro, VT), Stine, Amanda Downing (Cardiff By The Sea, CA), Willis, Michaela LeBlanc (Cotuit, MA), and Marguerite Davenport (Mill Valley, CA) each rode well. Picking up fourth place finishes for the Pioneers were Stine, Downing, and Jill Medinger (New Town, CT). The Pioneers will ride again next Saturday as they compete in the Williams Show.
