Equestrians Place Fifth at Mount Holyoke Show
Northampton, MA:
Twelve of Smith's twenty-two riders who competed at the Mount Holyoke
Show today won ribbons with one rider qualifiying for regionals.
Sophomore Martha MaloneyHuss (Wilmington, DE) took a blue ribbon today in advanced walk, trot, canter which qualified her for Regionals next spring with teammates Emily Hertz (Brattleboro, VT) on the flat and Anna Logowitz (Newtonville, MA) walk, trot, and Jessica Willis alumnae flat also capturing blue ribbons.
Red ribbons were won by Sarah Maxner (Norwich, VT) and Sarah Massone (Skillman, NJ) in advanced walk, trot, canter, Barrett Phillips (Goochland, VA) in novice over fences and Willis in alumnae over fences.
Flat riders Kathryn Mishkin (Old Chatham, NY) in intermediate, Elizabeth Jacobson (New Fairfield, CT) in novice and Michaela LeBlanc (Cotuit, MA) in open all took home yellow ribbons with Judith del Cuadro-Zimmerman (Brooklyn, NY) and Katherine Yohay (Bethesda, MD) taking fourth places in beginning and advanced walk, trot, canter respectively.
Host Mount Holyoke won the show with 38 points
followec by Becker with 27, Williams with 26, UMASS with 21 and Smith
with 19 out of ten schools.
The Smith equestrians will compete in their final show of the fall on November 11 at Amherst.
