       Volleyball Defeats WPI 3-0

Worcester, MA: The Pioneers earned a first round home game in the 2005 NEWMAC Volleyball Championship on Tuesday, November 1 with their 3-0 defeat of WPI this afternoon. Smith, seeded fourth in the tournament, will host number five seed Wellesley College at 7 p.m.
       Today' s victory improved the Pioneers' record to 20-6 overall. Sophomore Katie Shafer (Red Bluff, CA)Deb Sasges (Vancouver, BC, Canada) led the team with 7 kills, 13 digs and 12 kills and 9 digs respectively. Senior co-captain Lauren Perry (Metairie, LA) had a team high 39 assists and junior.
