        Volleyball Falls to NEWMAC Leader MIT, 3-0

Cambridge, MA:  The Engineers of MIT remain undefeated in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) as they defeated the Pioneers of Smith 3-0 last night in Cambridge. With the victory, MIT improves to 26-7 overall while Smith falls to 19-6 overall and 5-3 in NEWMAC competition.
      Senior Kate Sorensen (Kelso, WA) and Katie Shafer (Red Bluff, CA) had team highs of seven kills and fifteen digs each.  Lauren Perry (Metairie, LA) tallied 22 assists in the loss.
     Smith will be in action again on Saturday in its last regular season match when the team travels to Worcester to face NEWMAC rival WPI at 1 pm.
