Northampton, MA: Amherst College took first place at the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament with a total score of 41 points. Smith finished 13th of out 22 schools and had a total of 5 points. For further information, including match results, team stats, and pictures, please refer to www.newitt-tennis.org. Cami Whitney (Pasadena, CA) was the only Pioneer to advance to the quarterfinal round of her singles competition. She fell to Kristen Ravertal of Amherst who was defeated in the championship round by Beret Remakl of Connecticut College. Smith is back in action this Tuesday as they host NEWMAC opponent University at 4pm. Singles: Cami Whitney (Smith) defeated by Kristen Ravertal (Amherst) 6-0, 6-1 |
