Worcester, MA: First year Brittoni Famous (Collegeville, PA) scored the game winner for the Pioneers with 5:32 remaining in the game to give Smith its fifth win of the season. With the victory, the Pioneers improve to 5-3-1 overall and 2-1 in the NEWMAC while WPI falls to 4-6-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
     The Pioneers took an early lead in the game scoring twice in the first half on goals two minutes apart. Senior forward Estefi Alvarez (Quito, Ecuador) tallied her third goal of the season on a breakaway following a pass from senior Ellie Loomis (Mountain View, CA). First year Amelia Stoker (Salt LakeCity, UT) picked up her second assist this year as she set up All NEWMAC midfielder Catherine Peo (Stow, MA) with 8:56 remaining.
    With the game 2-0 at the half, WPI opened the second half
scoring at the 50:06 mark on a direct kick by Aggie Ziolek (Londonderry, NH). First year midfielder Allison Dassatti (Hampstead, NY) tied the game up with Ashley Maiorano (Southampton, MA) assisting with 17:56 remaining.
     First year keeper Marlowe Dieckmann (Oakland, CA) tallied her 5th win of the year while WPI's Manda Otterman (Hinsdale, IL) took the loss giving up three goals with four saves.
     The Pioneers are in action again on Friday when they travel to NEWMAC rival MIT for a 4 pm contest.
