                   Field Hockey Falls to Springfield 6-0

Springfield, MA:  Springfield College maintained its hold on second place in the NEWMAC standings with its defeat of Smith, 6-0, last night.  Senior Meghan Bascetta (Granby, CT) scored twice for the Pride with Jaclyn Galligan (Hopedale, MA), Sarah Brooker (Auburn, ME), Eileen Jenkins, and Allie Eisele (Walton, NY) each contributing a goal.
     Smith goalie, Megan Maguire (Hatfield, MA), made 15 saves in the loss.  The Pioneers are in action again on Saturday when they travel to Wellesley College for another NEWMAC contest at 1 p.m.
