                      Clark Defeats Smith Field Hockey 1-0

Worcester, MA: The Cougars of Clark University picked up their first NEWMAC victory last night as they defeated Smith 1-0 in Worcester. Clark (2-10, 1-3) scored the winning goal in the first half on a tip in by senior Brittney Wickles (Hatfield, MA) at the 13:13 mark. Both teams had scoring opportunities with the Pioneers taking twelve shots and Clark eleven. Megan Maguire (Hatfield, MA) made 6 saves for the Pioneers while Kaitlin Kelley (Guilford, CT) stopped nine.
     The Pioneers, who fall to 6-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play, will host NEWMAC rival Wheaton College on Saturday, October 15 at 1 p.m.
