Situated on the banks of Paradise Pond,
the boat and crew houses serve as both a classroom and outdoor center
where students can check out boats, as well as sign up for off-campus
trips. Canoes, sea-kayaks, rowboats, and shells are available for
use with Smith ID.

Paradise Pond is one of the beautfiul
and unique features of the Smith Campus, the pond supplies a display
of natural beauty as well as a center of activity. For the first 8
weeks and last 7 weeks of school, the boathouse and pond are open
for recreational paddling. Even winter offers opportunities of strolling
or ice-skating on the frozen surface.

Other features include a beautiful
waterfall, ideal spots for picnics and homework breaks. Watersport
teams perform on the pond.
