Smith Athletes Honored at Annual Sports Banquet
Over 250 Smith student-athletes, coaches, administrators and guests were in attendance last night at the Department of Athletics annual awards banquet. Guest speaker, Victoria "Tori" Murden McClure '85, opened the festivities and received a standing ovation and cheers of appreciation at the conclusion of her "Ten Commandments for Women in Sport."

Nguyen & Weiss Selected to NCAA Development Conference
Sophomores Bethany Weiss (Windham, NH) and Lindsey Nguyen (Brockton, MA) have been selected to participate in the 2008 NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference to be held the end of May at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Smith Wins Second Match On Spring Break
Smith Tennis wins back to back matches on their Spring Break with a second match win over Grove City in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Smith won at #2 and #3 doubles and added two more wins in the singles matches at #3 and #4. Smith now at .500 with a 6-6 overall record heading into the home spring season. Smith will be playing March 29 and 30 at the Seven Sisters Championship at Wellesley College.

Smith Athletes Receive All Conference And Academic All Conference Honors
Junior Nora Youngs (Penacook, NH) heads up a list of twenty-five Smith athletes who have received New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All Conference and/or Academic All Conference honors in their respective fall sports. Youngs, who garnered Runner of the Year accolades by winning the women's race in the NEWMAC Cross Country Championship, was also named to the Academic All Conference team.

Smith Field Hockey is Defeated by Wheaton 6-0
Although the Pioneers put forth a strong defensive effort in the first half holding Wheaton to 1 goal, the Lyons were able to take charge in the second half and go on to take a 6-0 victory over Smith. Smith falls to 2-6 (1-1) on the season, while Wheaton improves to 8-3 (2-0) overall.
