Subcommittees In the spring of 2009, Smith's Student Athelte Advisory Committee initiated the formation of four subcommitteees in order to provide for more structure and greater effectiveness to the organization. These subcommittees have been designed to provide for more effective communication among the Smith Athletic and Academic Community, encourage academic achievement, social responsibility and general awareness on campus and to provide a positive student-athlete image through involvement in the community. The mission of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee is to enhance the total student-athelte experience by promoting opportunity for all student-athletes; protecting student-athlete welfare; and fostering a positive student-athlete image, while maintaining the tenants of the Division III philosophy.
