SCMA invites groups to reserve guided tours or self-guided visits to the museum. Guided and self-guided tours for K-12 school groups are free of charge, and subsidies are available to assist with transportation costs. Adult and non-Five College student groups are charged admission and are kindly asked to make an additional donation of $2 per person for a guided tour (the donation goes into a fund for educational programs at the museum). Guided tours are typically available during the Smith College academic calendar year, as our guides are Smith students. Please contact the museum education department at 413.585.2781, or email us at museduc@smith.edu.

Parking

Parking in the area around the museum can be a challenge. There is no parking area specifically for the museum. On weekends and evenings guests to the museum may park in any white-lined space in college parking lots, including the college’s parking garage. On weekdays before 5 p.m. parking may be found on the city streets near the museum or in the city parking garage located behind Thorne’s Market (there is a fee for that garage).

Parking for Guests with Physical Disabilities: There is a drop off area in front of the museum for guests with physical disabilities. A gradual ramp leads to the museum entrance. Handicap parking is available next to College Hall (the closest space near the museum) and in the Smith College parking garage. Persons with handicap placards may park in any handicap space or white lined space on campus. If you believe you qualify to park in college handicap spaces but do not have a placard, visit Disability Services to apply for a temporary college pass.
