This clock reflects the influence of blacksmiths, who often belonged to the same guild as the clockmakers. Andreas Liechti, who was responsible for this piece, belonged to a family that was unique in producing twelve generations of clockmakers from 1477 until after 1857, all of them working in the Swiss town of Winterthur. |
