Welcome!

Students are a vital part of the Smith College Museum of Art (SCMA). There are many ways to participate in the SCMA experience.

"As an undergraduate at Smith, participation in the Student Museum Educator program opened the world of museums to me and helped me to identify and prepare for my career as a curator."

Jessica Nicoll
Director and Chief Curator, Smith College Museum of Art

“Leading hundreds of children in making prints during Family Day and writing Family Guides on exhibitions ranging from contemporary Japanese art to American portraits prepared me well for my current job as Museum Educator at the Crow Collection of Asian Art.”

Krystal Read

“Volunteering at the museum has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me. I get to introduce art and new ideas to all kinds of people. Discussing art with school kids and letting them express their creativity with art projects is a lot of fun and I feel like I’m helping the community.”

JoAnna Wall
