Museum of Art (Tryon Hall)

  • An entire new floor of skylit galleries
  • Expanded and improved classrooms with enhanced audio/visual capacities
  • A special resource area for the public to access the museum's collection database and other online museum information
  • Enhanced multimedia capabilities and computer conduit throughout the building
  • Improved and expanded art storage with state of the art "compact storage" equipment
  • A study storage area to make more of the collection accessible for classes
  • New visitor amenities: additional rest rooms, a personnel elevator, a larger coat room, and an expanded sales shop
  • Updated mechanical systems to protect the collection with state-of-the art environmental controls
  • Present courtyard will become an enclosed, all-season atrium space for receptions and informal gatherings

  • Comfortable seating area for reading current periodicals
