The museum gladly provides:
- full wheelchair accessibility
- sign language interpretation upon request
- large print text floor plans
- magnifying glasses
Strollers, folding stools, wheelchairs, baby-changing stations
The Museum provides strollers and wheelchairs (one of which is motorized) for our guests' use. Due to the limited supply, we encourage you to make a reservation for use of a stroller or wheelchair. Folding stools are available in all the galleries. Baby-changing stations are located in both the men’s and women’s restrooms on the second floor of the Museum.
Parking for Guests with Physical Disabilities
There is a drop-off area in front of the Museum for guests with physical disabilities. A ramp leads to the entrance. The closest handicap parking spaces are at College Hall (the building next to the Museum) and in the Smith parking garage (about a block away from the Museum). Those with handicap placards may park in any handicap space or white-lined space on campus. If you believe you qualify to park in college handicap spaces but do not have a placard, visit Smith Disability Services or call 413.585.2071 to make advance arrangements and apply for a temporary pass.
Use the metered street parking near the Museum or the public parking garage in downtown Northampton, a ten-minute walk away. Weekends and evenings after 5 PM, use the free parking in nearby Smith College lots or the free Smith parking garage on Route 66/West St.
