How to Access Works in Storage
Only 3–5 percent of the Museum’s approximately 23,000-object collection is on view at any given time in the galleries. However, faculty and researchers can search our online database or you can consult with Museum staff to find other works of art in storage that may be of interest for teaching or study.
Faculty and researchers can gain access to to prints, drawings and photographs by making an appointment with the Cunningham Center for the Study of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs. Works may be pulled for individual study or a class visit.
Faculty and researchers can gain access to paintings, sculptures, and other objects by making an appointment with Museum staff to see works in storage. If scheduled in advance, these objects may be displayed for class use in the Winslow Teaching Gallery.
