Fraser Stables earned his B.A. from Edinburgh College of Art and M.F.A. from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada.
Professor Stables works in photography and video. His artwork utilizes conventions of documentary and performance in order to explore the image/narrative identities that one constructs and assumes. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, and he was an artist-in-residence in the Core Program (MFA, Houston).
Fraser Stables is co-founder of Atopia Projects, an arts organization that initiates exhibitions and publications. He has taught photography and digital media classes at Brown University, Rice University, and Glassell School of Art. He is represented by Devin Borden Hiram Butler gallery in Houston, and Georgia Scherman Projects in Toronto.
