Lee Burnes earned his B.A., M.A. and M.F.A. from the University of Iowa.
Professor Burns came to Smith in the fall of 1977 and has taught Design Workshop I (2-D design), Design Workshop II (3-D design), Sculpture I, and Sculpture II. His personal work is wide-ranging, including carving of wood and stone, welding, and bronze casting. He has recently been making abstract mirror-polished (electroplated for surface protection) bronze sculptures.
