A. Lee Burns came to Smith in the fall of 1977 and has taught Design Workshop I (2-D design), Design Workshop II (3-D design), Sculpture I, and Sculpture II. His personal work is wide ranging, including carving of wood and stone, welding, and bronze casting. Most recently he has made abstract mirror-polished (electroplated for surface protection) bronze sculptures.
