Smith College Museum of Art
The college's Museum of Art is one of the best collegiate museums in the country. The permanent collection numbers more than 25,000 objects dating from 2400 B.C. to the present. With the expansion of the academic curriculum into non-Western areas of study, the museum has added to its collection with holdings and exhibitions in Asian, African, Islamic and Latin American arts. Students learn directly from original art through innovative classes, research, intern programs, gallery talks and visits.
