About the Concentration
Requirements for the Concentration
The Archives Concentration is open to any student by application. These are the requirements:
- A partial-credit "gateway" course (either ARX 140 or 141)
- Four existing courses offered in departments or programs, which involve significant archival research (courses are approved by the ARX advisory committee)
- The capstone seminar, involving an independent research project, usually an exhibit, and a presentation at Collaborations.
- Two practical experiences or internships
(A student may count a maximum of three courses toward the concentration that she also elects to count toward her major.)
Sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply online
First year students many apply in the spring (April 1) after completing at least one course in the concentration.
